April 2018 marked a global first in the UK in the growing battle for pay equity. For the first time ever, all businesses with over 250 employees were required to formally report their gender pay gap statistics. As US employers consider auditing their pay practices and recruiting processes for compliance with California’s growing body of pay equity laws, there are lessons to be learned from the approach being taken in the UK.
